Here’s a look ahead at three major questions facing the Miami Heat following the 2019 NBA All-Star break as they seek a return to the postseason.

In the lead-up to the recently completed NBA All-Star break, the Miami Heat completed an extremely  challenging West Coast road trip with a 2-3 mark, thus resulting in a 26-30 record for the season. As a consequence, the Heat now find themselves on the outside looking in as it pertains to securing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Despite having a near-capacity roster for the majority of the season, the Heat have thus far been somewhat of a disappointment. With the departure of LeBron James to the Western Conference, and a virtually identical returning cast on Miami’s roster, the continuity of this group, combined with the experience of last season’s trip to the playoffs, all pointed to a continued improvement with their overall standing in the league.

Unfortunately, things have not transpired as they would’ve hoped. Overall, the Heat currently rank 24th in offensive rating, 26th in turnovers and 27th in points per game. As per usual, their saving grace has been on the defensive end, with the Heat ranking sixth with a 106.6 defensive rating.

With just 26 games remaining, the Heat have little time to rediscover their absolute best form in order to notch enough victories to reach the postseason. With this in mind, here are three big questions facing the Heat following the All-Star break.
