NBA recap: All-Star roundup, 3 storylines to monitor and games to watch
Upcoming games to watch
There is an abbreviated slate of games due to the All-Star break ending on Thursday, and that’s pretty much the best night to watch basketball this whole week. Usually in this section, games to view will be scattered throughout the week. But this week, every game will be on one night.
Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks — Feb. 21, 8:00 p.m. ET
A potential conference semifinals/finals preview pits two of the best teams against each other on the first leg of a TNT doubleheader. The season series is tied at one game apiece, with the first two games taking place in Boston. These two teams went seven games in the first round of last year’s playoffs, and always produce great cross matchups between lineups.
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Lakers — Feb. 21, 10:30 p.m. ET
The Los Angeles Lakers’ quest to make the playoffs begins with James Harden and the Houston Rockets returning to the scene of their on-court scuffle that happened in the second game of the season. Who knows how much bad blood remains between the two teams, but with Houston trying to maintain its position in the standings and the Lakers trying to join the party, this should be an intense affair in L.A. on the back half of the TNT doubleheader.
Sacramento Kings @ Golden State Warriors — Feb. 21, 10:30 p.m. ET
The battle for NorCal is must-see TV. The Sacramento Kings play an exciting style of basketball with young athletes flying all over the court, and we know what to expect from the two-time defending champs. The Golden State Warriors have won both meetings, but the games have been close, at 127-123 and 130-125, respectively. If you enjoy fast-paced basketball, tune into this game simultaneously with the Rockets-Lakers game.
