The Detroit Pistons are wrapping up the 2019 All-Star break, and they have some questions to answer as they head down the home stretch of the season.

The Detroit Pistons have wrapped up their All-Star weekend festivities, and they are preparing for the home stretch of the season in their quest to return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

Detroit finds itself locked in a heated battle in the lower half of the Eastern Conference playoff race. While the Pistons sit in the 8-seed right now, they’re only 2.5 games back from the Brooklyn Nets for the 6-seed.

This team has the ability to push for that 6-seed, but it has been far too inconsistent outside of All-Star Blake Griffin to have any confidence in its ability to do so. Reggie Jackson has played well lately, but he hasn’t played this well since he first arrived in Detroit. Some called Andre Drummond one of the biggest snubs from All-Star weekend, but he has put up a lot of empty stat lines that haven’t always helped the team win.

Can the Pistons earn the 6-seed? Absolutely. However, they have to focus on their consistency down the stretch and playing within the system. If they can do that, then they can focus on answering these questions to reach their full potential for the remainder of the year.

If they can answer these questions successfully, they could make a little more noise in the playoffs than people are expecting.
