3. Kyrie Irving wins MVP (2013-14)
Once LeBron James left the Cavaliers in 2010, the fate of the franchise was resting on Kyrie Irving’s shoulders. It became clear very quickly that Irving was ready to take on any challenge and had the talent necessary to be an NBA superstar.
After winning the 2011-12 Rookie of the Year award and the 2012 Rising Stars Game MVP, Irving had big expectations for his first time as an All-Star starter.
Running alongside James himself, Irving put on an absolute show, scoring 31 points and dishing out 14 assists on his way to winning the MVP award. Irving became the second youngest player to win the award and just the second player in Cavaliers franchise history to win the MVP.
Irving shot a very efficient 14-of-17 from the floor in this game and showed the world how talented he was as a scorer. One year later, Irving would be running with James on the Cavaliers and competing for an NBA championship.
