Overall: C+

Collin Sexton has a long way to go in the NBA, but his future is bright. It is obvious that he has a lot of heart and a drive to improve. Looking at the progress he has already made in his rookie season, there’s no reason to doubt that Sexton isn’t dedicated to making himself and his team better.

Despite a few inconsistencies and problems with his playmaking, Sexton has been one of the best rookies from the loaded 2018 NBA Draft. He leads all rookies in double-digit scoring games and should have been selected to participate in the 2019 Rising Stars Game.

As of now, Sexton is on pace to become just the second rookie in Cleveland Cavaliers history to average 15 points on at least 39 percent shooting from the 3-point line. The last player to achieve this was Kyrie Irving in the 2011-12 season.

Moving forward, Sexton will have to grow as a playmaker and learn how to effectively run an NBA offense. He will also have to round out the rest of his offensive game by either adding a more deadly 3-point shot or improving at getting to the rim.

Sexton has made some noticeable leaps in his game this year. He may never be the face of the franchise, but there is certainly All-Star potential in his future. How far Sexton goes will come down to how hard he works to improve in the offseason.
