The Cleveland Cavaliers have been counting on Collin Sexton all year long. Today, let’s grade how his rookie season has gone so far.

The 20-year old rookie point guard from Alabama, Collin Sexton, was selected eighth overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Draft. Sexton was taken with the hope that he could potentially carry the franchise in the post-LeBron James era. Today, we will break down how he has held up to expectations.

It became very clear early on that Sexton is not going to be an instant star. His game was unpolished and his talents were obviously underdeveloped. It could be argued that Sexton may have been better off playing another year in college to become a more complete player, but here we are.

His rookie season hasn’t been all bad. In fact, Sexton is playing a lot better than most people have given him credit for. We are going to evaluate his performances on both offense and defense this year. Then, we will finish it off by making some future predictions for Sexton.
