At the All-Star break, let’s analyze some former Slam Dunk Contest participants from the New York Knicks and how they fared.

It looks like New York Knicks fans will have something to cheer about at the All-Star Weekend, as their newly acquired point guard, Dennis Smith Jr., will be participating in the Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday.

Maybe the city of Charlotte will bring luck to the Knicks, as New York has seen nothing but despair thus far. After a pretty disappointing part of the 2018-19 season, the Knicks find themselves at the very bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

With a record of 11-47, it is fair to say that their tanking business has been going according to plan, though they will have to go forward without their prodigy, Kristaps Porzingis, who was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Slam Dunk contest has always been one of the most entertaining events of the All-Star Weekend, with fans bringing the energy to help the high flyers reach that perfect score of “50”.

As a result, it’s about time the Knicks turned their focus on something else, perhaps the possibility of having the winner of the Slam Dunk Contest on your team. it certainly won’t be a first for the Knicks as they’ve been pretty successful at this throughout the years.

The New York Knicks are tied with the Atlanta Hawks for the most wins in the contest’s history with 4 wins each. It seems, though, as the two franchises are going to be battling for the crown, as Atlanta’s own John Collins will also be showcasing his stunts.

Even though the Knicks have taken home the trophy 4 times, it has been with only 2 different players. That is, of course, due to the fact that Nate Robinson snatched the award 3 times, making him the all-time leader in this category.

With no further delay, let’s take a look at the most spectacular dunks ever performed by your Knicks at the Slam Dunk Contest.
