2. Great bench play

The Nuggets have a great starting group, but the key to competing at the highest level is to have a strong group off the bench as well.

While the Nuggets don’t have a super-sub scorer off the bench, they get good contributions from everywhere, which is what has them ranked as the No. 11 team in the league in bench points per game.

Their bench also contributes to that solid turnover margin that was mentioned previously. Backup point guard Monte Morris has a turnover percentage of just 6.2. Dating back to his time in college, he has always taken care of the ball, which is what he does for them at the NBA level.

If they are ever without Murray due to injury or other reasons, he gives them a level of confidence coming off the bench.

While they should add a player on the wings on the buyout market if they can, they are also in good shape if they are unable to find the right fit. This team is playing well and they don’t need to jeopardize that by adding in a player for the sake of adding someone.

Their bench will continue to put up points while keeping the team in the game, and that will help them when the playoffs start against teams with weaker bench units.
