3. Continued offensive dominance

Coming into the season, the Nuggets were expected to ride their offense to get where they wanted to go. With a lineup that ranks third in the NBA in offensive rating, they have done exactly that.

Their defense has struggled since their hot start, but the offense continues to hum along to carry them to victories late in games. They present problems for teams with their ability to stretch the floor or attack them at the rim with All-Star center Nikola Jokic.

The Nuggets have done well with impressive shooting from both the field and 3-point range with marks that rank within the top-10 from both spots. It’s obvious that you have to make shots to win basketball games, and Denver does that with the best teams in the league.

Jokic, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray are only getting better with more time together, with Murray specifically getting better as seasons go on and he gets into a rhythm.

Another area they do well in is taking care of the basketball. They rank fifth in the NBA with just 13.4 turnovers per game. We have seen in the past when teams don’t take care of the basketball it can derail them down the stretch of a game.

See the Game 7 Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals as the perfect example. The Nuggets won’t have that problem and it will keep their offense humming along as one of the top teams in the league.
