What better way to see if a team is a legit contender than to compare how they fare among their contemporaries? When we run down Denver’s season thus far, they’ve shown poise and stout execution against the other top squads in the NBA. The Nuggets are 17-11 against opponents .500 or better to this point in the season.
As we all know, champions defend home-court night in and night out. Denver has the best home-court advantage in the league with a record of 25-4.
What about in crunch time? Do the Nuggets fold under the pressure? Not in the slightest. Denver is 10-2 in games decided by three points or less (leads NBA), and 2-0 in overtime games this year.
Even when they’ve struggled and trailed in games this year, they’ve had a fair share amount of games figuring out how to win ugly, winning 12 out of 26 games this year when they’ve trailed at halftime.
Denver’s shown zero blemishes and supreme versatility in its ways of winning — a huge indicator this team can compete for more than just the regular season.
