Cleveland Cavaliers: 4 players that have hit their strides this season
By Tony Pesta
1. Collin Sexton
Rookie Collin Sexton has had a roller coaster season thus far. Coming in with high expectations, Sexton was slow to start, as he was visibly uncomfortable coming off of the bench. Once he finally got his starting position 10 games into the season, Sexton played very good basketball.
In his first 18 games as a starter, Collin averaged 18.7 points per game on 46.7 percent shooting from both the field and the 3-point line. However, once opposing teams began to build scouting reports for Sexton, it became much more difficult for him to score.
He has obviously worked hard to learn what he needs to fix in his game, because he is now playing at a much higher level. Sexton has made it over his rookie slump and is scoring 22.8 points and 3.8 assists per game in his last five outings.
The fact that Sexton has continued to push through the season and learn on the fly is something that should make every fan optimistic. He is clearly dedicated to improving himself and has shown flashes of being a future star.
