Indiana Pacers: 3 reasons they’re thriving despite Victor Oladipo injury
The Indiana Pacers are on a six-game winning streak. Here’s a look at how the team is thriving despite the absence of Victor Oladipo.
The Indiana Pacers got off to a hot start this season. For starters, they were one of the best defensive teams in the league. They had also produced 32 wins through their first 47 games, which was good enough for third in what is shaping up to be wide open Eastern Conference playoff race.
Unfortunately, as is the case with nearly every team in the league, Indiana was recently dealt a tough blow on the injury front. The team’s leading scorer, Victor Oladipo, was lost for the season due to a ruptured quad tendon in his right knee, an injury he sustained during a game against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 23.
When a team loses a player of that caliber, it can be a tough obstacle to overcome. The Pacers are no exception to the rule, as they dropped four straight games following Oladipo’s injury.
However, things have been trending upward for the Pacers as of late, as evidenced by the team’s six-game winning streak. Here’s a look at how Indiana has found ways to hold its own during that stretch.
