Houston Rockets: Top 3 buyout targets to consider signing
1. Markieff Morris
Despite being sidelined for over the past several weeks with a neck injury, Markieff Morris is arguably one of the most heavily sought-after pieces on the free agency market.
Morris, who appeared in 34 games with the Washington Wizards this season, was recently traded and waived by the New Orleans Pelicans after averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on 43.6 percent shooting from the field.
Although Morris’ recovery from his latest setback remains to be seen, the former Kansas forward could be the ideal fit on a Houston team that is in dire need of depth at the 4-spot. The Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are interested in his services, according to Yahoo! Sports‘ Chris Haynes.

A career 33.8 percent shooter from downtown, Morris is a 6’10”, 245-pound forward who possesses the versatility to defend multiple positions, set effective screens and make shots out of various pick-and-pop sets. His willingness to provide supplementary grit combined with his current skill-set could prove to make him a major weapon in Houston’s small-ball lineups.
This would give fellow veteran forward P.J. Tucker a slight chance to rest, as a healthy Morris would likely provide the Rockets’ bench with a certain edge it has not possessed in quite a while.
