3. Michael Beasley

Despite not generating major interest from teams on the buyout market, Michael Beasley could easily be regarded as one of the top scoring forwards who is currently available at the moment.

The 30-year-old wing — who appeared in 26 contests with the Los Angeles Lakers this year — was recently dealt and immediately waived as part of a three-player trade with the Los Angeles Clippers last week, after averaging 23.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per 36 minutes.

"“He scores like the rest of us breathe,” an anonymous coach of an opposing coaching staff said when describing Beasley’s game last season, per ESPN’s Ian Begley. “I always say if there was a one-on-one tournament, make it, take it, I’m going with Beas.”"

The journeyman known as B-Easy is not currently regarded as a sharpshooter from downtown — or above-average defender — compared to current Rockets wings such as Iman Shumpert or P.J. Tucker. However, the 6’9″, 235-pound product would supply Houston with a sizable wing player that can generate instant offense.

Beasley — who missed most of the year to help care for his ill mother in December — possesses the aptitude to light up opposing defenses coming off the bench, as his ability to score out in isolation and space could make him a major asset in the Rockets’ second unit alongside Chris Paul.

Should he seek to produce in a way similar to his first stint with the franchise, there is a slight possibility he could work his way into Houston’s rotation late in the year, allowing the former lottery pick to finally find a home after all.
