With the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline having come and gone in a flash, how do the Memphis Grizzlies’ new acquisitions fit into their plans?

The majority of Memphis was sitting on pins and needles going into the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, waiting to see if the Memphis Grizzlies were going to deal franchise icons Marc Gasol and/or Mike Conley. In the end, the Grizzlies only dealt Gasol, moving him away from the only city where he has enjoyed a professional basketball career.

The team also made two other trades on deadline day, shipping away veteran players. Half of the Grizzlies’ opening day roster is now gone and the team sits near the bottom of the league’s standings.

With five new players being brought in over the deadline, a few questions need to be asked for each one, namely: “What can this player do for the team now?” and “Does this player fit into the team’s future?”

Let’s have a look at each of the players acquired at the deadline.
