Detroit Pistons: 10 best power forwards in team history
By Amaar Burton
6. Harry Gallatin (1957-58)
The Hall-of-Famer played all but one year of his career with the New York Knicks, which was his final pro season with the Pistons.
In that year, Harry Gallatin averaged 14.9 points — one tick below his career-high of 15.0 points — and 10.4 rebounds per game. He also helped lead the Pistons to the Western Division finals, where they lost to the eventual champion St. Louis Hawks.
Gallatin ranked 10th in the league in Player Efficiency Rating (PER), which of course wasn’t exactly a thing back then, but has since been calculated retroactively.
Gallatin was a seven-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA performer with the Knicks, who traded him to the Pistons in 1957 as part of a deal that included the next player on this list.
