The OKC Thunder are streaking and the All-Star break is around the corner. Everything is looking up for OKC.

The trade deadline came and went for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They did not need to make any moves. The past three weeks have been the best in recent memory for the OKC Thunder.

OKC has gone 9-1 in their last 10 games. The first win came against the Philadelphia 76ers. It came down to the wire and Paul George‘s four-point play helped them take the win.

They went on to win their next six games. After a loss to the Boston Celtics, they have won their last two games and are currently on a two-game win streak.

The Thunder have to play the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and New Orleans Pelicans before the All-Star break so there is more than enough opportunity to expand on their good play.

The play of Paul George and Russell Westbrook has been a big factor in the team’s overall success.

George had a great January where he went for 30 points or more seven times. He averaged 29.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game that month. So far in February, he has gone over 40 points once and has gone over 30 points twice.

He is averaging 39.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists this month. George is averaging 28.0 points per game on the season, which is good for fourth in the league. He is averaging 2.3 steals per game, which is good for first in the league.

He has been able to elevate his two-way play this year. He is averaging the highest points per game in his career and he is averaging the highest steals per game in his career.

He is looking like a real MVP candidate, but with the way James Harden is playing it looks like he will be the MVP this season.

Russell Westbrook is looking to average a triple-double for the third season in a row. The triple-double average is getting easier for him to accomplish as the years go by. He has recorded eight straight triple-doubles in the past eight games.

This season he is averaging the highest rebounds (11.0) and the highest assists (11.1) ever in his career. Oscar Robertson is the only other player to average a triple-double but Westbrook is the only player to do it more than once. He looks to be the only three-peat in NBA history.

He leads the league in assists and statistically, he is the best rebounding point guard in the league. His 11.0 rebounds per game are good for 11th in the league. At 6’3 he is almost a top 10 rebounder in the league.

A notable player who has helped the Thunder big time with the way he has been able to knock down shots and play well overall has been Terrance Ferguson.

January was the best month of his career. He averaged 10.8 points, shot 49.5 from the field and 47.9 from the 3-point line. For a team that lacks 3-point shooters, they’ll take any shooting threat that they can get.

Next. Winners and losers of the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline. dark

With their two best players playing well and help from role players OKC is playing the best basketball that they have played ever since Kevin Durant left. They are currently third place in the West and 2 games ahead of the Blazers for that spot. Everything is looking up for OKC.
