The path to fixing this team is going to be a long and interesting one, filled with many moments of pain and joy. The main thing that fans and the front office will need to remember during these times is to be patient.

There is never any reason for a team that is rebuilding to panic. The stakes are always low when the team is playing poorly. The worst thing the team could do is overreact and make an unnecessary trade that puts the team farther back.

Building through the draft will be the goal for Cleveland. Luckily, they have a number of players such as Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson that can be flipped for draft picks.

This means that if everything goes wrong and the Cavaliers need to change directions, they have an easy way to jumpstart the new rebuild.

Much of the Cavaliers efforts to build a championship contending team will come down to luck. They will need to win big at the draft multiple times and maybe even attract a free agent or two in order to get this franchise back to the top. It will be fun to watch as this process unfolds.
