5. Markieff Morris
Standing 6’10” weighing around 245 pounds, Markieff Morris is an interesting blend of both power and finesse. He’s never been afraid to get physical around the basket, and he’s proven equally willing to take shots from the perimeter, especially this season with 4.2 3-point attempts per game.
Currently averaging just 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, it’s possible and very likely a change of scenery is all Morris needed. After all, the Washington Wizards sit just 22-32 on the season, and the dysfunction within the team over the last couple of years has no doubt taken a toll on the power forward’s psyche.
He’s the type of player built for postseason basketball, someone who can and will doll out a few elbows here and there, and can wear opponents down over the course of a series with that same physicality.
As of right now, Morris is actually nursing a neck injury and isn’t expected back until after the All-Star break. But upon returning to full health, the former Jayhawk shouldn’t have much trouble finding a new home given his skills and the toughness he can provide for teams looking for a similar type of edge, especially come playoff time.
