10. Zach Randolph

Truth be told, Zach Randolph isn’t good for much on the court these days. At 37 years old he can’t possibly hope to keep up with the athletes of today’s game, while his preferred diet of mid-range looks and post-ups isn’t really what coaches are looking for.

Nevertheless, there is always a place for veterans on NBA squads as mentors to some of the younger players a team may have. Z-Bo has been in the league for nearly two decades, has multiple All-Star appearances to his name and at one point was one of the toughest guys to guard near the rim. That’s a lot of experience he’s probably dying to give out to any youngster who will listen.

Think of what Vince Carter is doing with the Atlanta Hawks. Yes, he’s surprisingly still productive on the court even at his advanced age, but he was mostly brought in to impart wisdom on players likes Trae Young and John Collins, two likely future stars who are no doubt relishing in the unique opportunity they’ve been given.

Whether a team is a contender or lottery-bound, everyone can learn a thing or two from a guy both beloved and well-respected around the league. Randolph has seen a lot of things during his time as a pro, knowledge that could play a part in a team’s success or failure as the season rolls on into the playoffs.
