The 2019 NBA Trade Deadline may have passed, but the NBA is just getting started with the buyout market set to heat up in the coming days.

The annual NBA trade deadline has become a well-known spectacle among the league’s most loyal of followers. Fans are eager to see who gets traded and to where, looking for the deal that can either improve their team’s success or one that sets the internet on fire.

That period of time has come and gone, and it’s safe to say there were a number of deals that got NBA Twitter fired up. Now comes a lesser known time on the league’s calendar, one gaining traction but still not quite as popular just yet.

The buyout market has become the premier place for front offices to acquire impact players on very cheap deals. Certain guys — whether veterans looking for a better situation, or youngsters who have no role on their current team — find themselves available to be signed, and it’s these buyout candidates who can have a have a very big effect on the team they choose to go to.

Around this time last season, the duo of Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli were picked up by the Philadelphia 76ers. The two would then go on to play a major role in Philly’s conference semifinals appearance, providing much-needed spacing for the duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons to go to work.

The 10 guys on this list all bring a unique set of skills to the table. Some can help those in need of both perimeter shooting and defense. Others specialize within a few feet of the basket. They’re not on the level as some of the big names who switched teams this past week, but keep an eye out for them if and when they find new homes, and don’t be surprised when they make an impact as well.
