The Toronto Raptors have one of the deepest rosters and one of the best records in the association. Even so, here’s why they should make a deal at the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline.

The Toronto Raptors have the third-best record in the NBA and have shown to be one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference. They have continued their regular season success with their new additions of Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard. But how will they do in the playoffs?

Enter the 2019 Trade Deadline, the time for fans to go crazy with hypothetical trades of their team’s players for other players, and gobble up any and every trade rumor imaginable. Raptors fans are no exception, and this year has fans salivating at the idea of forming a super-team around Leonard compared to their last five years at the trade deadline.

Some fans are hoping for a chance at Anthony Davis or Bradley Beal or Insert Star Name Here. But in order for a high-caliber player to come in, some player(s) of high value and/or picks have to go the other way. Most don’t like the idea of losing those pieces.

For an in-depth look at Toronto’s trade capabilities and roster, I highly suggest this trade deadline primer article by Blake Murphy of The Athletic.

On the opposite spectrum of things, there are good reasons the Raptors should stand pat at the deadline. Today, however, we’re going to discuss the reasons Toronto should make a trade by the deadline, and discuss a few trade scenarios.
