The Toronto Raptors have agreed to a deal for Memphis Grizzlies legend Marc Gasol. Here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.
To keep up with the elite teams at the top of the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors are swinging for the fences too.
As first reported by ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Raptors have agreed to a trade for Marc Gasol, and will send Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, C.J. Miles and a 2024 second round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies.
This move, which comes less than a day after the Philadelphia 76ers swung a deal for Tobias Harris and just hours after the Milwaukee Bucks stole stretch-4 Nikola Mirotic, helps Toronto keep pace with the other contenders at the top of the conference standings.
The Raptors now sport a Big 3 of Gasol, Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry for their First Team All-Surly playoff push, while the Grizzlies got what they could for a 34-year-old center on a sizable contract.
The question is, how did both sides fare in the exchange? What can the Raptors expect from Gasol given his age and contract? Did they give up too much, or did the Grizzlies not get enough in return for arguably the greatest player in franchise history?
To sort it all out, here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.
