The Phoenix Suns have agreed to add Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington from the Miami Heat for Ryan Anderson. Here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.

Outside of the Kristaps Porzingis trade last week and the stunning Tobias Harris deal early Wednesday morning, most of the moves leading up to the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline have been mundane to this point.

The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat decided to add to that group Wednesday afternoon, as ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the two sides had agreed to a deal revolving around combo guard Tyler Johnson.

Arizona Sports‘ John Gambadoro and The Athletic‘s Shams Charania later added to the report, clarifying Wayne Ellington would also be heading to Phoenix, with Ryan Anderson going to South Beach. According to Woj, Ellington (who owns a no-trade clause) will be working to secure a buyout in order to join a playoff contender.

For the Suns, this clearly represents an attempt to fill their glaring hole at point guard. For the Heat, the move revolves around trying to duck the luxury tax.

So how did the Suns do in their attempt to address the team’s need for additional playmaking? And what are we to make of Miami dealing one unwieldy 2016 contract for another?

In order to sort it out, here are the latest NBA Trade Grades.
