NBA Trade Grades: 76ers snagging Tobias Harris from Clippers
The Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a blockbuster trade revolving around Tobias Harris. Here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.
Imagine thinking it was safe to go to sleep with the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline on the horizon.
In the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, the league provided yet another unexpected twist. As first reported by The Athletic‘s Shams Charania, with ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski quickly providing the framework, the Philadelphia 76ers are swinging for the fences.
Per Woj, the Sixers have agreed to acquire near-All-Star Tobias Harris from the Los Angeles Clippers in a blockbuster move that could have ripple effects throughout the Eastern and Western Conferences.
Philly will be bringing aboard Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic to help pad its depth as well, but had to give up quite a ransom to get the job done, sending rookie Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala and a total of four draft picks to the Clippers:
As always, the question after any deal is: Who won this trade, which was actually two separate trades to make the money work, per ESPN‘s Bobby Marks?
Did the Sixers make the right call going all in on contending for the Eastern belt just months after bringing in Jimmy Butler? What could the Clippers be posturing for after trading away their best player in the middle of a season that, if it ended today, would result in a playoff berth?
In order to sort it out, here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.
