2. Spencer Dinwiddie injury

Guard Spencer Dinwiddie is out with a hand injury, without a timetable for return. That leaves Shabazz Napier as the main ball-handler off the bench, which isn’t ideal for a playoff run.

Head coach Kenny Atkinson can always consolidate minutes as the playoff race heats up, but the rotation’s crunch time flexibility is still hampered. He loved going with Dinwiddie moreso than D’Angelo Russell on occasion.

Until Caris LeVert returns, there will be a gap. The team can right the ship in the meantime, but with all this depth, it behooves them to look at flipping a surplus to fill a need.

Can one of the aforementioned vets be put in a package for, say, Cory Joseph or Darren Collison? How much would Garrett Temple cost? There are options, and the Nets have the ability to pull off a trade.

The way that Brooklyn’s roster and cap situation is set up gives Sean Marks a bevy of ways to address this hole. Several players can act as matching salary at various pay grades, and the draft pick cupboard is well stocked.

If the front office finds the right move, they’ll probably make it happen.
