Ben Simmons

For all the talk about what he can’t do on the court, there are plenty areas in which Ben Simmons thrives, an obvious reason as to why he was named an All-Star for the first time in 2019.

As mentioned before, Lillard would be able to play off the ball because of another distributor drafted in the later rounds. This player is Simmons, and he is sure to do just a fine job in that department.

How many 6’10” guys can grab a rebound, push the ball in transition and either finish at the rim or find the open shooter? I don’t know, but Simmons is one of them, giving Team Giannis a supreme advantage off the bench.

His outside shot is obviously one area of concern, but it isn’t aided by the fact that the Philadelphia 76ers have minimal shooters to spread the floor with, whereas a guy like Giannis is surrounded by snipers, and we see how that’s playing out so far this season.

On this team, Simmons can find himself out on the court with much more room to work than he is normally accustomed to. With that, we can expect an even more imposing version of the Aussie point guard, one whose limitations are masked and skills enhanced instead of the other way around.
