The 24 players for the 2019 NBA All-Star game have been revealed, and with that comes time for Hoops Habit’s very own mock draft.

The annual NBA All-Star Game finally officially has its participants for 2019, as the league revealed the seven reserves from both conferences last Thursday night on TNT. As always, there is much to discuss regarding the selection process. While very few could argue against those chosen, some found themselves snubbed from the festivities for one reason or another.

In past years, the announcement of the bench players would also reveal the rosters for the respective teams. It used to be the players from the East pitted against those from the West. Now, it’s not that simple. As a way to drum up interest, the NBA has decided to go street-ball with its midseason festivities, using a selection process with the two highest vote-getters as the captains.

The draft is set for Thursday, where LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will switch from player to general manager in order to make sure they come out of the weekend victorious.

Here at Hoops Habit, we thought it’d be a good idea to do a mock draft of our own, both for fun and to get inside the minds of these two great players. I represented The Greek Freak, while my colleague Gage Bridgford ran with King James.

As the leading overall vote-getter, Gage was granted the first pick, which, let’s be honest, doesn’t mean much when selecting from this talent pool. We both tried to build the best team, assuming all involved would give close to maximum effort.
