6. Andy Phillip (1952-56)

Another old-school Hall-of-Famer whose name and game might be overlooked in 2019, Andy Phillip played three-plus seasons for the Fort Wayne Pistons before the franchise moved to Detroit in 1957.

Phillip averaged 8.9 points, 6.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Pistons, making 37.8 percent of his field goals and 68.7 percent of his free throws in an era when the game was completely different from what we see today.

Phillip was a three-time All-Star with the Pistons, and All-NBA Second Team in 1953. He finished in the league’s top-five in assists every season he played for Fort Wayne. He also helped the Pistons make it to the 1956 NBA Finals, where they lost to Paul Arizin‘s Philadelphia Warriors.
