4. D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell has been on a mission this season to prove his doubters wrong. After being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017, Russell is taking his game to new levels with the Brooklyn Nets.

Russell is showing his leadership skills, bringing the best out of his teammates. He is thriving in his role with Brooklyn and has helped lead the team to the sixth-best record in the East. With a record of 28-25, the Nets have already won the same amount of games they did last year and more than any season since 2014-15.

The 6’5″ point guard has excelled at using his size and shooting ability to attack opponents. Russell is averaging 19.6 points and 6.4 assists a game, both career-high marks. Furthermore, he is also shooting at career-best percentages from the field (43.8) and the 3-point line (37.4). D-Lo has worked hard to improve his game and it’s showing.

It is unfortunate that he wasn’t selected as a reserve, but he may still have a chance to play in the All-Star Game. With Victor Oladipo being unable to play, the Eastern Conference will have to choose one injury replacement player. Hopefully, Russell will capture this final spot.
