2. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have had a phenomenal season despite dealing with multiple injuries. Coming in as a young team with moderate expectations, the Nuggets have shocked everyone by being a top-two team in the Western Conference.

Currently, Denver has a 35-15 record and is second behind only the Golden State Warriors in the West. Even though the Nuggets have started the season off strong, not many believe they will be serious threats in the playoffs. This is largely due to their lack of experience and the absence of a proven superstar on the team.

By trading away Jamal Murray, Garry Harris, Paul Milsap, Malik Beasley and multiple draft picks, the Nuggets could get the superstar they are looking for. With Anthony Davis on the roster, Denver will become a real threat as a playoff contender. Furthermore, the frontcourt tandum of Nikola Jokic and Davis could be deadly.

To help complete this trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers will send Jordan Clarkson and a second round pick to New Orleans as well as J.R. Smith to the Nuggets. These moves allow the Pelicans to gain a few young assets while Denver obtains an experienced veteran in Smith.

The Cavaliers walk away with Millsap, Beasley and a 2021 first round pick. This will help aid the Cavs as they move forward into a new era of rebuilding through the draft.
