12. Enes Kanter
For a guy who claims to be a team player, positive influence on the youngsters and great fit for the Big Apple in general, Enes Kanter sure does complain about his minutes a lot, doesn’t he? To be fair, he’s a more than capable sixth man, averaging 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds in just 26.3 minutes per game, but he hardly has a place in the New York Knicks‘ rebuild.
The youth movement has taken over, which means it’s time for Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson to soak up minutes in the frontcourt. With Kanter on an expiring contract, a separation is coming one way or another.
This prevents Kanter from climbing further up the list, but he could help a more competitive team’s second unit if one can find a way to trade for his $18.6 million deal. Unfortunately, the list of teams both willing and able to do so is virtually nonexistent, so this much-needed divorce may have to wait until free agency.
