1. Sign Carmelo Anthony

Recently, the Houston Rockets agreed to send Carmelo Anthony and cash to the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls also received the draft rights to Jon Diebler, while Houston received the rights to Tadija Dragicevic.

The Bulls can hold Carmelo until the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline on Feb. 7 in hopes to move him for assets. If no deal is made, sources say the 10-time All-Star will be waived.

If no teams make a move to trade for Melo, the Mavs should look into picking him up after the trade deadline on the buyout market.

The 16-year veteran could be exactly what is needed in Dallas. Along with Nowitzki, he could become a team leader and a veteran presence on the court. Playing between the small forward and power forward role, Carmelo could really take Doncic under his wing and help mentor the young rookie into a monster.

Aside from his experience, he is a proven scorer. In his tenured career, Carmelo Anthony averages 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game. With such an impressive resume and nothing to lose, there is no reason why the Mavericks should not take a chance on him.
