For every player teams covet at the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, there are just as many who should be avoided at all costs.

Whether you’re on the cusp of playoff contention or in the hunt for a shot at the title, the annual NBA trade deadline serves as the perfect time for those rosters that may seem a little rough around the edges.

While there are plenty of teams looking to acquire talent, there are also those looking to sell off some of their own.

Some do it to expedite a rebuild or to rid themselves of a past pairing gone horribly wrong. It’s usually about the removal of a guy in order to move forward with a hopefully better plan for the future.

These types of players certainly are attractive in one sense due to their immense talent level, but they’re also potentially detrimental in another. Some have a long list of injury histories and others have contracts too bloated for their respective teams to bear.

As the timer on the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline slowly ticks down, we’ll see more and more front offices get in on the trade market buzz. But if any of them are thinking about acquiring one of these five players, they should look to invest their assets elsewhere. After all, there’s a reason they find themselves tradable in the first place.
