Memphis Grizzlies: 4 other trade possibilities
3. Brooklyn Nets
This trade is a big stretch, but it’s a way for both teams to get rid of a bad contract for players that have struggled with injuries. Trading Chandler Parsons may be an impossible task this season, but they’ve got to try.
Since signing his four-year contract with the Grizzlies, Parsons has played in a total of 73 games over three seasons. Allen Crabbe, like Parsons, has struggled with knee issues this year and hasn’t played since the second week of December.
Parsons has been working out in Los Angeles as he continues to stay away from the Grizzlies, but he’s been ready to play for quite some time. Who knows if his body can actually hold up, but the former Florida Gator says he’s healthy.
The complicated part of this trade is that the salaries don’t quite match up, so there couldn’t be an outright trade, which means Dzanan Musa would have to be included. Musa has played in just 26 minutes so far this season, spending a lot of his time in the G League.
Still, he’s a young player and the Grizzlies are all about taking fliers on young players these days. If Musa is too much to give up to get ride of Crabbe’s contract, Treveon Graham is a more acceptable substitute. The Grizz would have to throw in a future second round for Brooklyn, but the earliest they could offer one is 2022.
