3. Ja Morant — PG (Murray State)

Holding down the No. 3 spot on the list is another player that has made huge strides in his sophomore year. Ja Morant is taking college basketball by storm with his recent stretch of phenomenal games.

Morant is displaying unique creativity with the ball in his hands. He is crafty and quick to react to the defense, seemingly one step ahead of them at all times. His ability to be acrobatic and make fast decisions in the air has separated him from the rest of his competition.

For the season, Morant is leading all players with 10.6 assists per game. Morant’s creativity is at its best when he is setting up teammates. However, he is much more than just a passer, as his 24.3 points per game makes him the sixth-highest scorer in college basketball.

NBA comparison: John Wall

The player that most closely resembles Morant’s game is Washington Wizards All-Star, John Wall. Their speed in the open court and aggressiveness make them very interesting players. Both Wall and Morant have questionable jump shots, but have enough athletic talent to make shooting an afterthought.
