2. Maurice Harkless

Maurice Harkless is your prototypical 3-and-D wing. At 6’9″ and 220 pounds, he can make athletic plays on both ends of the floor, capably guard multiple positions and score reliably from 3 or at the rim when set up properly. At 25 years old, there’s even a little more room for growth.

Harkless’ talents would make him a hot commodity for any team to try acquiring. Like Leonard, though, his contract — $42 million over four years, also signed in 2016 — seemed too big to move. With $11 million owed to him next year, teams may be more willing to bring Moe aboard.

Injuries have also cut into his production. Harkless had a career year in 2016-17, averaging 10.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He has struggled to stay healthy since then, and hasn’t matched 2017’s production when he is on the floor. Moe is averaging 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game over the last two seasons, and has played in 87 of a possible 130 games.

Still, teams may be more attracted by what Maurice Harkless can do as opposed to what he has done. With his athletic build and two-way abilities, teams are surely making calls to Neil Olshey to see if Moe is available.
