The Memphis Grizzlies just had their most difficult stretch of games over the whole year. These 4 games point to the Grizzlies’ struggles overall.
Here’s a quick summary of the Memphis Grizzlies‘ season since the start of December:
Loss. Win! Win! Loss. Loss. Win! Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Win! Win! Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Win! Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss. Loss.
That’s a measly 6-19 record over that span, good for fifth-worst record in the league over that same span that only beats out tanking teams like the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks.
There are plenty of reasons why Memphis is struggling so much over the past month and a half. These struggles have pushed them out of playoff contention and into the difficult middle area of tanking or continuing to try.
Memphis’ flaws have never been more apparent than in their last four games, where they played a brutal schedule with road games against the Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors as well as the Milwaukee Bucks at home. Besides the Celtics loss, every contest was a double-digit defeat.
Each game also highlighted a big problem with the Grizzlies and why their season has been trending downwards so fast. Let’s have a look at these four areas.
