With the trade deadline slowly approaching, the New York Knicks could end up trading some of their guys sooner rather than later.

Here we are, 3 full months into the 2018-19 season and the New York Knicks are exactly where we expected them to be. Currently, with a record of 10-34, they are pacing themselves towards a top pick in the upcoming NBA Draft with no hopes of playoff contention.

It is usually at this point during a season, that contending teams evaluate their summer moves and their overall talent, leading them to make any necessary moves that would help them take the extra step.

They usually target tanking teams that would be more than willing to trade away their veterans in exchange for young, cheap talent and possibly some draft picks. That’s exactly where the New York Knicks come into play.

When this season is finally off the books, the Knicks will have a ton of cap space at their hands, to use in the process of attracting free agents to New York.  They could be given the chance to say goodbye to some of their veterans prematurely as they would be more useful elsewhere.

Trades like these tend to make tanking teams worse for the remainder of the season, flourishing them in the near future. As a result, it should not come as a surprise to see New York pull the trigger on a couple of trades during the following weeks.

Here are 3 players that are most likely to be traded away from New York before the trade deadline.
