Cleveland Cavaliers: 7 trade proposals for Kevin Love
By Tony Pesta
1. Los Angeles Lakers
When the Los Angeles Lakers signed LeBron James last summer, it became obvious the window for a championship wouldn’t be open for long. While James hasn’t shown his age on the court yet, he isn’t getting any younger. Trading for a star to help James immediately is something that the Lakers should constantly be looking to do.
Kevin Love, of course, has already played four years by James’ side and even won a championship with him in 2016. Regardless of what most people think, James and Love can be quite effective together. Adding Love to this Lakers roster has the potential to make them real contenders.
The Cavaliers would land a home run deal, scoring Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Josh Hart, Lance Stephenson, Ivica Zubac and a future draft pick. Bringing in Hart would be huge, as he is a gritty defensive player with raw offensive talent and all the signs of a potential star. Furthermore, Ivica Zubac is a promising young center that could blossom into a really solid member of the team.
This would be a solid deal for both teams. L.A. loses wing depth, but gains an All-Star while the Cavs add to their collection of developing prospects.
The only thing stopping this trade is the fact that the Lakers might be more attracted to holding out for New Orleans superstar, Anthony Davis. However, if those trade talks gain no traction and the Lakers grow desperate to find LeBron help, Cleveland could sneak in for the deal.
