2. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are one team that has reportedly shown interest in Kevin Love. The franchise wishes to add a reliable second option next to Luka Doncic. Love could very well turn into a great mentor and sidekick to Doncic.

As of now, Dennis Smith Jr. shares the backcourt with Doncic. While their time together has been short, their contrasting personalities on the court have already caused some issues. As a result, trading away Smith might be a good move for both parties.

The Cavaliers could add both Dennis Smith Jr. and Wesley Matthews‘ expiring contract, while also bringing home a 2021 first round draft pick. This trade would help the Cavaliers gain a young talented prospect, a consistent veteran and a future pick.

The Mavericks would bring in an All-Star to run alongside Doncic as well as Rodney Hood, who would fill Matthews’ role. The only difference is Hood’s contract is $15 million cheaper than Matthews.
