Cleveland Cavaliers: 7 trade proposals for Kevin Love
By Tony Pesta
3. Portland Trail Blazers
The Cleveland Cavaliers should be looking to add draft picks in any Kevin Love trade and the Portland Trail Blazers might be a good team to offer them one. Portland could send over its 2019 first round pick, Meyers Leonard and Maurice Harkless in exchange for Love.
On the outside, it may look like Cleveland isn’t getting much in this trade. Neither Harkless nor Leonard is averaging even 10 points a game and they don’t appear to have much upside. However, if tanking is the path that the Cavaliers have chosen, then adding these players doesn’t hurt too much.
Furthermore, the Blazers currently stand at fourth in the Western Conference but are only 5.5 games ahead of 14th place. This means their draft position could jump around rapidly as the season goes on. Their pick could end up being very valuable, especially in a draft class that is projected to be extremely rich with talent.
Portland could be interested in adding Love to add to their dynamic of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Seeing Love be inserted next to an emerging frontcourt star in Jusuf Nurkic would be very intriguing as well.
