5. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have been desperately trying to provide their star, Kemba Walker, with some help for the past few seasons. They have been reluctant to trade him, but a few bad contracts on their team have made it nearly impossible for them to attract any quality free agents.

This is where the Cleveland Cavaliers can step in and help. The Cavs would take on Nicolas Batum‘s hefty contract and Malik Monk, along with a 2020 first round draft pick.

Taking on the final three years of Batum’s awful contract would hurt, but the Cavaliers can withstand the blow. It is unlikely they would sign a notable free agent during this time anyway, so sacrificing their cap in this trade in order to gain another draft pick is totally worth it.

Meanwhile, Charlotte would finally pair Walker with another All-Star and give him a real chance at competing.
