Memphis Grizzlies: 5 past teammate fights to learn from
LeBron James and Mario Chalmers
When: Dec. 18, 2013
Why: A member of the Big 3 vs. Mario Chalmers = yelling
Anyone that watched the Miami Heat during their “not 6, not 7, not 8” years knew that Mario Chalmers was often the target of the Big 3’s ire. President Obama made a joke about it when he welcomed the team to the White House.
Bleacher Report took a shot at Chalmers in one of their “Game of Zones” episodes even after he had been out of the league the prior year due to an injury.
The clips are endless, but nothing compares to when LeBron James jumped at Chalmers during a timeout in a game against the Indiana Pacers in December of 2013. There was always lots of tension between Chalmers and [insert player here], but this was the first time it looked like it might get physical. LeBron was held back by Udonis Haslem, or else he might have bumped chests with Rio.
This fight was part of a long season for the Heat, who ended up losing to the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals.
Lesson learned
Have LeBron James on your team, because when he’s there, he could have teamed up with Bubba Ray Dudley and could have 3-Ded Chalmers through a table court-side and it all would have been okay.
