3. Chicago Bulls

Jackson has two years, including this season, remaining on his contract. This makes him more difficult to move, but it’s not impossible. One move that they could use is to trade center Zaza Pachulia along with Jackson and the team’s second round pick to the Chicago Bulls for center Robin Lopez.

The Bulls are expected to wait until the 2020 offseason to make their free agency moves, which plays into this trade.

The Bulls are in the middle of their rebuild, and they could use a steadying presence at the point guard position behind Kris Dunn when they hire their permanent head coach, whether that’s Jim Boylen or someone else.

Jackson would give the young Bulls team a veteran voice in the locker room to help move toward the future. It also gives them another pick in the second round of the draft. Pachulia gives Chicago a body to soak up some minutes at the 5-spot.

Escaping with their first round pick will be difficult, but the Pistons can do that with a move like this. Lopez is an expiring contract, but he is an upgrade over Pachulia that can be played more often. It’s unfortunate the team has to give up one of their two draft picks to make this move happen, but they are opening up cap space, which is what this deal is about at the end of the day.
