Fresh off Luka Doncic putting up 21 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in a 122-119 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis wasn’t shy about giving the Slovenian rookie his props.

Davis said, “He shoots the ball very well. Shoots it from range. He can pass. He’s going to be a great player.”

Later that night in New Orleans, Doncic showed that he may already be a great player as he lit the Pelicans defense up to the tune of a career-high 34 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field.

However, even with Doncic having a career night, Anthony Davis still outshined the rookie, putting up 48 points, 17 rebounds and four assists en route to a 114-112 victory.

As long as Doncic and Davis both remain in the Southwest Division, we can expect plenty of great matchups between them for years to come.
