Orlando Magic: 3 dream trade scenarios for 2019 and beyond
By Luke Duffy
3. Terry Rozier (or Jaylen Brown)
We begin with what would easily be the most likely deal to occur on this list, and that is trading for point guard Terry Rozier of the Boston Celtics. This move makes sense for both parties, with the Magic desperately needing a point guard and Rozier clearly in need of a bigger role than the one the Celtics can give him with Kyrie Irving on the team.
Last season he was the starting floor general for a conference finals team, and when given his chance Rozier has played with a chip on his shoulder all season. This was evident in the recent nationally televised game against the Toronto Raptors, which Irving missed due to injury.
Rozier played like a man possessed and it is clear he is angling for a big contract extension once the season is done. The Magic are a team that could give it to him, while the Celtics seem in a less willing position to do so given the current construction of their roster.

If the Magic were to trade for him, they would likely have to give up players of their own on expiring deals (Nikola Vucevic, Terrence Ross) while also accepting that Rozier could ultimately command a large offer in restricted free agency. Still, it would be so great to see him run the point in the pinstriped blue. It seems like the perfect match.
With Jaylen Brown, although the Celtics are likely reluctant to part with their third-year wing, he has failed to hit the highs of last season so far and could be a classic buy-low player. If they were interested in upgrading their roster to push it over the top, would they give up Brown?
The Rozier move is more grounded in reality than what is to come next, and appears to make sense for both sides as well. Both are still unlikely, which gives you an idea of where we are headed. On the other hand, the fact this could work for both sides makes it exciting to think about.
