Despite being one of the top teams in the league, the Toronto Raptors look like they could use some help with their perimeter shooting.

Ever since the season started, the Toronto Raptors have been at the top — or near the top — of the standings. The big changes made during the past offseason seem to have really turned this team in the right direction.

The Raptors once again a great team on the offensive and defensive end. Major credit is due to their MVP candidate in Kawhi Leonard, but it’d also be unfair to ignore the rest of the guys who are simultaneously having career seasons.

As of today, the Raptors have the 2-seed in the Eastern Conference, which happens to be the second-best record in the NBA. Even though the team’s shooting from the field seems to be on point at 47.3 percent, their 3-point shooting is not quite feeling that rhythm, however.

They rank second in the NBA in shots from inside the arc at 55.3 percent, but somehow struggle to find their groove when taking long range shots. They rank 25th in the league in their 3-point efficiency, shooting a sorrowful 33.8 percent. Despite all that, they continue to launch from behind the arc, causing them to be scoreless for many possessions.

It is common for championship contenders to make minor trades to hone their rosters, but no blockbuster trades are in the team’s plans, given Toronto’s chances at the chip. So don’t expect the Raptors to trade for Klay Thompson to help with their shooting struggles.

As the 2019 trade deadline approaches, here are some trade proposals the Raptors should consider looking into to improve their 3-point shooting.
