With 2018 slowly coming to an end, there are a few things the New York Knicks would hope to change as we flip to the new calendar year in 2019.

It is usually around these days that we get that barrage of “new year, new me” kind of talk. Quite surprisingly, the same thing seems to happen around the basketball world with teams like the New York Knicks setting up their goals for the new calendar year.

It is quite hard to imagine many Knicks fans looking back at 2018 and saying “Yeah, I’m fine with that.” The team was simply disappointing in almost every aspect.

Unexpected injuries, no notable free agency signings and young players evolving at a slow pace can only begin to describe New York’s 2018. As a result, many fans hope for an improvement of any kind as we wait for the ball to drop.

New York is a big-time city. A city like the Big Apple most definitely deserves a big-time team to bring the levels of intensity fans were used to back to Madison Square Garden.

As the Knicks hope for a more successful year in 2019, here are five keys they have to keep in mind in order to find more success.
