New Year’s resolution: Win Giannis Antetokounmpo MVP

I know, I know. “Win the East” is just as logical a goal for the Milwaukee Bucks as teams like the Raptors, Celtics and Sixers, and perhaps just as realistic (if not more so). The Bucks have the NBA’s best record and point differential, with a top-three offense and defense.

However, Milwaukee has also never made it past the first round with this current core led by Giannis Antetokounmpo. That will almost certainly change this season, but the Greek Freak is having too remarkable a season for him to not seriously contend for the Maurice Podoloff trophy. A run to the conference finals would be a success for this franchise on the upswing, so because of that (and for the sake of variety), we’re shirking “Reach the NBA Finals” for “M-V-Greek” chants.
. 25-10.
